About Just the Issues
Just the Issues is a non-partisan civic platform that reveals what Americans actually care about. Political action in the US is overwhelmingly driven by wealthy donors and special interests, while the concerns of everyday people go unrepresented. This platform exists to close that gap — creating a transparent, crowd-sourced view of national priorities driven by real people, not money.
Every issue on this site is presented with neutral, factual framing — no editorializing, no partisan spin. The homepage ranks issues by net votes so the most important concerns rise to the top organically.
How It Works
Vote on issues. Each issue can be voted up or down. The homepage ranks issues by net score, so what matters most to real people is always visible at a glance.
One comment per issue. You get exactly one comment per topic. This is intentional — it forces you to say what you actually mean rather than getting drawn into back-and-forth arguments. You can edit your comment until someone else interacts with it (votes on it or posts their own comment on the same issue). After that, your words are locked in. Choose them carefully.
Report new issues. Think something important is missing? Submit a report describing the issue and why it matters. Admins review reports, identify common themes, and craft neutral issue pages from them.
Why Verification?
Just the Issues uses verification to keep the platform honest while keeping the bar low for participation.
To vote and comment, sign in with your phone number or Google account. This keeps bots out and ensures one person, one vote per issue — without asking you to hand over sensitive personal information.
Optional ID verification adds a verified badge to your account. Your name and state will appear on your comments, showing other users that a real person stands behind your words. Your ID photo is used only for verification and is deleted immediately after processing. We never store your images or sell your information.
Anyone can report a new issue — no account needed. If something important is missing from the platform, tell us about it.
